I stopped in Big Lots yesterday searching for treasures. You never know what you might find in this place. My intention was to get a gift for a kid's birthday party this weekend and maybe some cute little things for my June DTC secret pal. Her name is....... ha, gotcha!Anway, lo and behold, what do I spy across the aisle but an Eddie Bauer 3-in-1 deluxe car seat! It goes all the way up to 100lbs! You can use it as a rear-facing seat when the baby is tiny, then forward facing for the toddler stage, then with some adjustments it becomes a big kid booster. It even has a way-cool little cup holder. I haven't done any research on car seats cuz I wasn't planning on buying one any time soon. But could I pass up this bargain? I immediately called my sister, Carla, experienced superhero mother-of-four. She gave it a thumbs up. So I bought it. Yes I know all you real life friends and family who keep telling me to "stop buying stuff cuz there won't be anything left to buy when it comes time for your baby shower" would disapprove, but did you look at the sticker? IT WAS ONLY $100!! I need 2 seats anyway. Yes I am single.... but I have 2 cars. Well, one is a company car that Mia will probably be driven to the sitter's in every morning on my way to work. And no... I'm not wrestling the car seat in and out of each car every friggin' day. I'll have 2! Don't worry guys. I'll register for the multi-million dollar Britax seat. You'll all have to pool your money to afford that one. By the way, I rushed home and got on the internet to see if I got a good deal. At Eddie Bauer dot com it's $219!! Woohoo!! But then I found it somewhere else for $180. But still quite a bargain. I was very proud of myself.

CONGRATS on your find!! I have that exact car seat that I bought last year.....but I paid $250.00 CDN!!! You will LOVE IT!!! I use it right now for my nephew and he thinks the cup holder is sooo cool. Actually my mom, brother and sister-in-law all have that car seat too...you would've thought we would get a big discount for buying 4, but NOPE!!!
Good deal. I was in Big Lots recently and saw those, too. They also had strollers.
The carseat is a huge purchase - good for you to find such a killer deal!! I wish I could install mine now...I just want to.
I'm gonna have to start scouting Big Lots. I've got them somewhat around me. Sounds like a weekend trip...knowing me the back of my car will be dragging the ground pulling out of the lot.
Hey, maybe you could have 'Michael' come over and wrestle that carseat into the car for ya ;0)

Cool to be called experienced super hero Mom. Although I have to admit, I am not a car seat connoseuir. (HTH do you spell that word anyway?) Teagan is in the car seat my 9 yr old came home from the hosp. in (and in his crib, btw.) I know, bad form, but if it ain't broke, don't fix it, you know? Now, when it comes to baby slings and carriers..... call me a diva.
Very cool!! We have been watching for sales on car seats but are too chicken to actually buy one this early. Perhaps now that we have our LID, we will be more courageous.
