I saw this today and it reminded me of a funny story I thought I'd share. I almost always host my family's Christmas celebration at my house. A few years ago, my brother was late getting there. At the time, he was a Fed-Ex delivery guy and because of the holiday rush was working late on Christmas Eve. Tanner, the oldest nephew, was getting impatient and wanted to open his presents but we kept telling him that we had to wait for Uncle Travis to get there. So here's a paraphrase of the conversation...
T: Why isn't Uncle Travis here yet? We wanna open our presents!! (insert whiny tone)
Us: We've told you already. Uncle Travis is at work delivering packages. He can't come over until he's all finished. It's important that he get all the packages delivered cuz tomorrow is Christmas.
T: (in complete serious wide-eyed kid amazement asks)
Is Uncle Travis an Elf?!
After we stopped laughing, I said "Well, I guess in a way... he sorta is."
True story. I swear. Ask my sister. She was there, too. Hilarious!

Kids just say the darnest things, don't they? You MUST re-tell that stiry to him when he is older. So Cute.
HA! I just watched this movie again with Hubby, and it makes me wonder why we can't all have a littel holiday magic still in us when we grow up. I want to believe that the FedEx men are elves too! lol... I love hearing about what funny or touching things kids say, it's always so memorable!!! lol...
That is so funny! I just read it to my sister and we are sitting here laughing. Kids come up with the best stuff!

Yep it's true. I think it was 2003, Krista.
I LOVE what comes out of kids mouths.
We watched Elf last night also! Made popcorn, snuggled with blankets on the couch, I love that movie. Good times - good movie.
Wow, thanks but now I'm trying to picture your brother....in tights!
Funny!

i love listening to kids talk, they always come up with the cutest stuff.
What a cute story. I'm not a Will Ferrell fan, but I love that movie too!
Simply hillarious!!! Mia sure is going to have a funny cousin!
Sounds perfectly logical to me...I look forward to those fun kind of statements!!
Out of the mouths of babes....gotta love the humor that kids have and don't even know it.
Too funny! We were talking about Santa in my class a few weeks ago - most fourth graders are believers. Then one of my students raised his hand and boldly said, "It's all messed up at my house. My mom is Santa, and my dad is the Tooth Fairy!"
Oh, my!
Well, I just let that one go cuz most of the kids didn't really get it. But after school I had a little talk with him... ;-)
That is an adorable story!
