Cuz I'm the nanny....that's why

I thought that caption was appropriate. Because why, indeed? There's really nothing here. Now I know what the term "down in the holler" means. Let me explain my current situation.

My sister has decided her life is not nearly full enough what with her five kids and a full time job as a labor and delivery nurse and all. So she's decided to go back to school to become a midwife. Most of her coursework will be done at home online until she gets to the clinical part. But she had to come down here to the school for a week of orientation.

How do I fit in to that equation? She's breastfeeding the almost 6 week old. So she asked me to come with her to stay with Tess during the day while she's at school. Since she's promised to go to China with me when the time comes, I agreed. Now I can hold this over her head if she tries to back out, right?

Especially since I'm holed up in a Super 8 motel with spotty internet connection and barely any cell service. But at least I'm able to work on my plan to watch all 9 seasons of Law and Order: SVU before the season premiere of season 10. Not sure if I'll make it. I'm only up to season 4. Oh and there's a Taco Bell right next door. So it's not all bad. LOL!

But I'll be out of commission for the rest of the week here on planet Hazard. Just in case anybody missed me. Gotta go. The baby is refusing to nap today.

Oh. My. Gosh.

Krista, I've actually been to HAZARD!!!! About ten years ago, I was on a mission trip with ASP (Appalachian Service Project) and we did home repair in Perry County (though we stayed at a school in Jackson).

Have fun this week. HaHaHa!!!

YEEEHAWWWW!

p.s. Does your sister know how marvelous you are? If not, come to Paradise, I'd pay for those type of services.

Holy smokes...u win the sister-of-the-year award.

I spent a weekend in Hazard as a part of a midwife spiritual retreat...that commune time with nature was nice but I was ready to hightail it out of dukeland after 24 hrs.

Happy SVU (that just sounds wrong).

OY! Do I ever have some Hazard, KY stories for you. It may well be time that we actually meet for a drink and dinner so that I can tell you about a young, innocent, young, naive, OH girl in Hazard, KY. These stories took place 29 (TWENTY NINE!!!) years ago. How can that be?! OY! The memories.

Enjoy time with the kiddos. What's the name of the college there? Not the one your sister is going to but the one right in town? Hmmmm....don't remember the name but I remember the stories. OH! The stories. Sorry, I'm done now.

OMG!! Dewey is from Hazard...well a little town farther southeast of Hazard...Whitesburg!! But I've been to Hazard many, many times. BTW, love, love, love the tat. Can't wait to see it in person. Missy will love it. She'll have the baby boy's name tattooed on her other foot when he gets here, as well as Chip having his name put on his wrist. Chip just got 2 more last week. People say they are addicting. I'll never know...too afraid of needles!
