Random Bullet Posting

  • I stenciled a border in my kitchen last weekend. It's beautiful. I love it! I'll have to take some pics to share. I'm almost done with all the decorating in that room. Except that I really want a granite countertop. Maybe. I'm having a hard time justifying it cuz I just put a C*orian countertop in a couple years ago. And they're not cheap either. But I don't like it anymore. I want granite. We'll see.

  • I'm tired this week. I've realized lately that I wake up a lot during the night. I think Griffey wakes me up some of the time. He jumps down off the bed in the middle of the night, he chews on himself and just generally makes noise. Which I think may be waking me up. I don't think I'd be able to survive co-sleeping with Mia. Gawd.. let's hope she does okay in her crib. Or I'm in big trouble.

  • My new year's resolution is going well. I'm kicking ass! But my weight is fluctuating from day to day. And yes, I know I'm not supposed to weigh every day. But I do anyway. Yesterday was the end of week three and I was down 11.5 lbs so far. But today I was down 13.5 lbs. So I guess it's somewhere in that vicinity. Woo Hoo!

  • I got a nice surprise in the mail from a far away land. I'll have to post a pic of my wonderful new bibs and storybook for Mia. Some people are just so thoughtful!

  • Work was long yesterday. Had to search a house for stolen property. It was one of those places where you just can't believe a human being would lay down their head. Nasty. Dirty. Clutter everywhere. Disgusting basement with just an aisleway to walk through cuz of all the junk piled up. Got cat hair all over my winter coat cuz they had several. The occupants were nice enough to smoke the whole time we were there, too. Just an all around pleasant experience. Oh wait... I forgot to mention how me and another female detective got to carry a huge ass heavy subwoofer thru the basement maze and up a flight of stairs. And I chose to wear heels yesterday. Yeah... some days my job is just loads of fun.

  • I'm so glad tomorrow is Friday. I live for the weekends!

  • I've got a hair appointment on Saturday. Long overdue. My gray is showing. Yikes.

  • That's all I got tonight, people. Aren't ya glad you sat through that? LOL!

I'm so excited to see the pictures of your kitchen! I remember when you posted pictures of your house from way back and I've been meaning to ask you about those quotes that you'd painted in some room?? It was something about living life for yourself and not anybody else, or something along those lines I think. (I swear I'm not a crazy stalker or anything! I just have a weird knack for remembering random things.) If you could share that quote, if you even know what I'm talking about, that would be awesome! Thanks, Krista!

Stencil...nice!

We are doing a mini redo in the kitchen and I desperately want granite! Not sure if the budget allows. Corian is nice. We saw a house when we were looking and they had Corian. Hubs was drooling. I had no clue what the hell it was. Now I do. But I am granite gal more.

I am trying to keep at my new food plan. And exercising is the key. Step by step...change by change. Good for you!

Keep smilin!

WAY TO GO with the resolution!!

I never did the co-sleep thing with Mali, and I don't feel guilty about it. Truth is, we both slept better in our own space. It took a great deal of 'training' on both our parts to get the sleep thing down - but we conquered. Sleep is priority as a single supermom, we trained hard. Mali now sleeps in her own big girl bed, in her own big girl room - and we (both) sleep till bout 9am on the weekends =)

Can't wait to see the kitchen pics . . .

Try Quartz counter tops by Silestone. People don't know the difference when they see ours from granite ones. They are MUCH cheaper than granite!

Get some rest this weekend!

I'm envious of your resolution success. I lost 5.4 in 2 weeks and then thought, hey, let's jump off this wagon and have a few COOKIES, huh? Big mistake. If i go off for ONE second it takes me weeks to get back on TRACK.

Your bad day at work sounds awful.

I loved my Corian. Loved that you could sand the scrapes out of it and never lose it's color. Can't do that with granite. But granite looks amazing.

Hang in there girlfriend. It seems like everyone has got a ton of stuff going on these days. I only have time to post and read blogs about once a week which I'm not happy about. Wish I had more time since I feel like I can't keep up with all my blogger buds.

Todd does security. He was called out to a house, just like the one you described. A morbidly obese lady had fallen over on her way to the toilet, and couldn't get back up... you guessed it... she couldn't hold it any longer. Todd said it was SO FERRAL - there was a bowl on the lounge chair, and mould had covered the bowl and was growing on the lounge! Eeeewww!!!

Can't wait to see the kitchen! I love granite too.

I so hear you on the co-sleeping arrangement! I'm praying now, that Mini prefers to sleep on her own!!!

Your job sounds yucky and I know that is a mild day for you. Is the hair appointment for you or for the cat hair that you got all over your coat? Sorry.

I hope you nephew is feeling better that was a load of stitches for such a little chap.

First...Congrats on the weight loss!
I just started trying today. I can only hope I do half as good as you!!
Second...I also have corian and now I want granite! But I keep holding off due to the China expenses.
Maybe next year.
And last but not least...I would love to see the stenciling in your kitchen. So please post pics.

Jeter used to wake me up every single night jumping off the bed until I got him doggy steps.

Granite rocks...save your pennies. Grey, well the grey is a challenge that I'm arm wrestling with right now. Seems that when you go darker, the grey shows up a bit more readily. Work & "those" houses. Been there and it is hard. Maybe a fortunate opportunity to see the spectrum of life?

I've enjoyed your blog for awhile now. Since we have an LID next to yours (June 13), I thought I should share our new blog, which we created this month.

I would typically e-mail this instead of posting it as a comment, but we are trying to remain completely incognito on this blog. (My e-mail would give me away.)

Hope you enjoy our blog as much as we enjoy yours!
