My Sexy Bedroom Makeover

I'm finished! Finally! No seriously....this has been a long time coming. I bought the bedding to re-do this room in late 2005. But never started the project. Then I finally started painting it in February 2007. Remember this post? Okay so I am a world class procrastinator. Don't act like you didn't already know that.

Ready for the pics? But first check out the before shots here to see what an incredible transformation this truly is. Even I can't believe it.

Here's the bedding that started the whole thing. I can't take a good enough picture of it to show just how gorgeous it is. It's a beautiful silky material. The butterflies and dragonflies have a sequin in the middle which just makes it sparkle.
Dontcha love the sexy little tassels? I've never spent this much money on bedding before. But I decided it was time for me to splurge a little. I love love love love it!!I probably should've ironed those wrinkled sheets. But then I wouldn't be me if I did that..... Everything in here is different except the furniture. And if I could afford that splurge, it'd be replaced, too. The carpet will stay until Mia comes home. I have plans for that adoption tax credit. And it involves new carpet. LOL!
This is one of my favorite things in the room. Well, all of these things are my favorites. That's the beauty of my new boudoir. But I do really love waking up and seeing this every morning. It helps remind me of why I keep going.

Faith, Hope, and Love. All very important things to remember in this adoption adventure.

The print on the shelf is very Asian looking and says "Adopt the pace of nature. Her secret is patience." Hmmm.... that seems fitting. I love the beaded lamps. When I first saw them I couldn't decide if they were sexy or trashy. Either way... I wanted 'em.

Did you notice I painted the ceiling a deep golden color? I love it. But it was hell to do.
Only two of the walls have the stenciled dragonflies and butterflies to match the bedding.
My sexy new ceiling fan. It kinda matches the chair. If you noticed, the window blinds keep with the same kind of texture.
I knew when I saw these stone plaques that I had to have them. Read my very first post on this blog and you'll see why. I think it was fate.

So there you have it. The longest bedroom makeover in history. But it's finally done. Time to move on to the next project!

You have brought sexy back...lovin' the work and I'm sure you're lovin' the results.

I have my 'Great Wall' plastered next to my bed too. Yep, it's a reminder every single day.

Now, since you're all sexied out...want me to send that Sasquatch guy to check out the new room? (retch)

OMG! So Pretty! We have some of the same tastes! I LOVE that candle holder hanging over the dresser in between the two windows! I'm looking for something like that to hang in my den.
You would not believe this but I just finished painting and distressing the t.v. cabinet (kind of like yours) that we had in the den before our new BIG t.v., I painted it a tan color, then put two coats of black glazing on it, and rubbed the glaze of in some areas. It looks so good! You'll have to wait a while to see though (unless I just suck it up and let everybody see the mess) cause the room that it is in is the one we are about to start knocking out walls in. I am going to do the same thing to our old end tables, and my computer is going in there, on a black desk. I am going to re-apolster our old love seat with a really pretty olive green fabric, now I'm looking for an area rug with the black and olive colors in it.
Oh, also, I love painting the ceilings different colors! I do the same thing!
Looks GREAT!!!

I'm a lamp ho! I love it and I don't use the word trashy when speaking of lamps, I say they are fun!

You certainly can tell a woman lives there, that certainly wouldn't fly in my boudoir with all 4 of my men! I love it and I want that big ol' red thread print. Where'd ya get it?

J/K. You stole my bedroom furniture. I was looking at the photos and thinking something was a little too familiar there.

We still have the bed but upgraded to a king (bed hogs) and put the headboard and footboard in the garage. We love it so we're keeping it and will use it when we have a house big enough for a nice guest room.

Chicka, you and I have way too much in common. Next time I'm in Indy I'll have to head to Dayton or Cincy to get together with you, Robin and I-con. Maybe even Sam (from Just Keep Swimming). And if I move to Atlanta this summer (keeping my fingers crossed!) you can come visit me and all the other GA gals!

I love the Chinese artwork. Too cool.

Love the bedroom. I have de-lurked to ask where you got the Red Thread/Great Wall picture? How big is it? I ask because we are looking for that along with a picute of St. Basil's Cathedral in Moscow. These will be a symbol of where our children were born. Our first Daughter Emma is from Russia and our second will be from China (LID 4-22-07). I love your new room. Thanks so much for the info.

You moonlight for Trading Spaces, don't you? Fabo girl. And I DO remember that post- how has a year passed since then?

I donated to HTS today- and emailed Jenny about how to get blankets to them, I'd like to do something through my church.
