My New Toy

I'm in love with an electronic appliance. No...not that one ladies. Besides, it takes batteries. LOL! I'm talking about my new big screen TV. It's 56 inches of absolute high definition magnificence.
Wonder why I've been absent from blogging lately? Now you have the answer. I've been enraptured every night by this amazing invention. The only reason I went through with this impulsive purchase was because the store was offering 36 months no interest. How could I pass it up? I mean, it literally only costs me pennies a day. Well, maybe a couple hundred pennies...but still. Just work with me here, people. I'm rationalizing.
I almost forgot to mention... see the baskets in the TV cabinet? Those will someday be filled with toys. Way to think ahead, huh? I'm preparing for this motherhood thing. I don't want my living room to look like a daycare center. So there'll only be a manageable amount of toys in there that can be tucked away when necessary. We'll see how that plan works out....

The picture is fantastic. The colors are amazing! I just sit and stare in awe. Just check out those American Idols. You haven't truly seen TV until you've seen it in hi-def.
I literally could count every wrinkle in Katharine McPhee's face last night. Although, I gotta give it to the girl ....there aren't many.

Oh wait... who was that? Sanjaya and his sis out in the audience?
I guess his 15 minutes of fame aren't over with yet.
Okay... back to the TV. I also rewarded myself with a new surround sound home theater system. Let me just tell you. It sounds like a freakin' movie theater in my living room. It took awhile for Griffey to get used to it. Because the speakers isolate certain sounds. So he was constantly looking behind him trying to figure out where the noises were coming from.
When my nephews were over, we watched Twister. Remember, the movie about tornadoes? Well, there's a scene where they drive into a torrential rainstorm. The rear speakers pulled out the rain sound. So me and the boys looked behind us thinking it suddenly started raining outside. The sound is crystal clear. Absolutely amazing. It's so freakin cool!

I love my new TV!! If China's gonna make me wait forever for my baby, I might as well entertain myself, right? Oh and ladies...don't let anyone tell you differently. I'm here to say....bigger is definitely better! Gotta go check out the TV schedule for tonight. Peace out!

Love it and so agree with the bigger is better comment :) Enjoy every minute. When we first got surround, it freaked me out a bit and poor Ms. Boo can't relax at all when it's on b/c she's keep hearing the noises. Love your living room, by the way :)

You never EVER have to justify a TV purchase to me, missy! I think it is the greatest thing ever and I am wholly addicted to mine. Yours blows my 42 incher out of the water though. ENJOY!

Congratulations on your new arrival!!
I love my big screen. I don't have surround sound yet, but it will come.

It helped with my wait too, but you will really love it when you are in the house every night as your little one blissfully sleeps.

Couldn't live without it.

NICE! We are new to the HDTV world too and it is pretty freaking amazing, huh?

Try Saving Private Ryan and Pearl Harbor on your surround sound too, they're incredible. :)

Nice! We've got the big screen, but no surround sound. We keep talking about it... but haven't invested. Makes me want to go get one! My dogs would go nuts though...

Your post definitely made me laugh. We eventually will get one of those big honkin' TV's but since we will have to move to a new assignment by the end of the year and then the military will move us back to IN when we retire, I just don't trust the movers with something like that. If they should break it, they only reimburse a portion of the retail costs.

For now I'm just going to go over to other people's homes to watch their big TV's. And honestly I'm perfectly content with my 11 yr old 27-inch TV - most days.

I don't use a TV much but I would imagine Mike Rowe has got to look even better on that set-up!
