I'm Really Over This

The weather man on the news the other night said this past week has been the hottest in 10 years. I don't know if I believe that or not. But it sure sucks. I hate to say this but I'm so over the summer. I'm ready for it to cool down. My flowers are all wilted. But I'm ready to rip them up anyway. I'm tired of watering them. I'm tired of weeding them. I'm tired of sweating my ass off to do it. And they look like crap. They've turned a hideous crunchy brown here lately.

It's downright miserable to be outside. It's the kind of hot and humid where you just can't breathe. The heat index this afternoon was up to 106. The actual temp was hovering around 96/97. That's too hot for Ohio. I can't wait to see what my electric bill will be next month. I'm sure it won't be pretty. I keep my house cold enough that I need sweat pants on. Love that. Not sure that'll work when baby comes home. But for now I snuggle under my covers at night. Ahhhhh....thank goddess for central air.

The first day of school in my district was Monday. The schools were closed the rest of the week because they don't have air. Wonder how that's going to fair this year seeing as how they've already used 4 of their 5 calamity days during the first week? That can't be good.

Feel free to remind me of this post in about 5 months when I'm bitching about shoveling snow.

Well here in Arizona.. it is HOT.. but this year we have all this NASTY HUMIDITY..
We don't like that stuff.. when Monsoon season comes we usually only have about 85-90 degree weather.. not this year.. it is 110 and 108 ... it is AWFUL... I am ready for this to be done too.
We keep cool too..
Have a great week.. hope the weather gets better everywhere..

You. Are. Not. Kidding. We are having record highs, it was up to 101 yesterday with the heat index at 109- first ever for us. It's weird too- you can SEE the moisture in the air... crazy.

Sounds like it's time to get the blender out for a niiiiice cold drink.

It's burning up here in Oklahoma as well. The PGA tournament is in town and it is incredibly hotter than blue blazes. However I will take this heat anyday over snow and ice. I came from IL where we had winters similar to Ohio. Not going there again, no winter coats, gotta love that, I will gladly pay a high electric bill to keep the house cool, beats snow anyday!!! I'll remind you when you're gripping about the snow!!!

Stay cool!

I just figure we are being paid back for having such a beautiful June and July. Stills sucks though! I'm sure our electric bill will be astronomical since the air seems to run non-stop. (and I only have mine set on 75 because of having the little grandson and the grand daughter here)

We too, down in Georgia are suffering from the heat. We hit a record high of 103 yesterday. Too hot to go outside! I'm really looking forward to the coolness of the fall.

I hear ya sister. We haven't had any 100 degree days, but plenty of 90 degree days this summer and I'm thinking - this is Minnesota! Not supposed to happen here! Enough already!

The humidty is killer. We had such a cold and yucky early summer that we are reveling in the sun and heat now.

I too am an A/C lover. People bring sweaters when they come over to our house.

Keep smilin!

Tell me about it! My hair went all Captain Caveman when I was out there...the only reason that you didn't see it like that was because I had it done. Apparently the two different hairstylists that I told 'make it manageable with some volume' meant stick straight. Oh well, at least you didn't see it how it normally is...which is scary. Really scary.

Krista, once again this is a post I could have written. I am also TOTALLY over summer. I am ready for fall. The weather man here was all excited because we might reach a record: the most numbers of consecutive days with temps over 90. Big deal....

Hoping you stay cool! (both temperature and personality wise!)

It has been record hot here, too. But lately it has been raining and cold! I complain about both. Bad me.

Krista,

As I'm leaving this comment it is 8:30 CDT and the Weather Channel is saying that it is 92 and feels like 97!!! The next 7 days of forecast highs are: 101,102,106,104,101,103,101

How $@!*% ridiculous is that??? I'm so sick of the heat and no rain. I also had to laugh when you mentioned the wilting flowers. We're definitely keeping ours watered. I've worked to hard to let them die now but it's quite funny that if I don't water them they get wilted but the weeds still thrive without water! Weeds are almost as bad as roaches - impossible to kill.

Stay cool. It won't cool down until at least October or November here in the Dirty South!!!

Ugh, I hear you sister! It's been 100 plus for a week now! You can't even get much relief at the pool when it's that hot!
