Next?

Referrals arrived outta the blue yesterday!! It was a completely unexpected batch. The last one had only been about 21 days before. That's a super quick turnaround! Plus add in the fact that Chinese New Year was early this month and February is a short month anyway. No one was expecting this. No one.

We just heard the very first rumor on Weds that China was "preparing to match". Generally referrals come out a week or two after we hear that. But instead, phone calls started being made first thing Thursday.

And sure enough.....
China has matched through June 9th.

Which means I'm only 5 days away!!

It's almost certain I'll get my referral in the next batch!
Can y'all believe that?!

Now I say "almost" cuz we're all used to the unpredictable world of China adoption by now, aren't we? They could always surprise us and do a very small batch. It's unlikely. But it could certainly happen. So I have to be prepared for it. Have to try to guard my heart a little.

When the next batch will come is the big question. The average is about 30-35 days between batches. But they've stretched as long as 45 days before. And as we saw with this batch ...a quick 21 days in between.

But I'm guessing it will come at the very end of March or the first few days of April. I can't believe this wait is finally almost over. Could I be within a month of finally seeing my daughter's face? Of knowing who she is? Where she is? How old she is?

Could I really be NEXT!?

Remember to relax your face muscles every few hours or so... smiling constantly can be wearing. Also, do not operate any heavy machinery as you will find yourself drifting into daydreams quite readily.

Really excited for you!

LOL! It is a wonderful feeling! She is becoming so real now, isn't she? I'm sure you've been sending "mind messages" to her for a while now telling her you love her and will be there soon! Right? I'm not the only crazy lady here, am I?! So happy for you! =)

I understand the guarded heart. I was so grateful that they matched up to the day before us. That way when it was our turn I KNEW we were going to be in because we were the very next day. Some people chose to get bummed because they "missed it" by one day but I was grateful to know we were next.

Krista, those of us who came before you can not even imagine the joy that you're feeling. Unless you've waited an unbelievable number of years then one can't know what this feels like. I do know, however, how it felt for us and that was an insane feeling and so you must be way beyond that.

So excited for you!!!

Can't wait to see her face!

You'd better get busy dusting her room!! Your crib isn't out of compliance or anything by now, is it? This wait has been insane!!!! ;)

Love, Traci

Oh my goodness. I am sitting at my desk crying tears of joy for you! I have read your blog for a very long time now (with a couple comments, few and far between) and couldn't be happier. I can not wait for you to be matched, for you to see your daughter's face and then post her picture on her for all of your readers to see and to watch closely as you post about the experience of going to China and holding her for the first time.

Good luck!!!!
