Good Times

So I survived my bout with the stomach eating plague. For the most part anyway. I had a little issue today when I ate a few slices of pizza at the party I'm about to tell you about. I had the T's with me and had to call over a back up for a five minute time out so I could run for the bathroom. I should've known better. I've been surviving on crackers, soup, bananas, dry cereal and noodles for the past 5 days. So my stomach was having no part of the pizza. The good news is that I've lost 9.5 lbs in 5 days. But it was definitely earned the hard way. Not recommended.

My 2nd job place was having their 10th anniversary party today. Since it's a child visitation center the event was geared towards kids. I was asked to bring the T's since most of the employees don't have little ones and they were afraid not enough kids would show up. So off we went. These cupcakes were donated by a fancy-shmancy restaurant in town who sent along a chef to help the kids decorate them. Here's the littlest T getting some help with his.
The bigger T's just thought it was cool that there were little candy eyeball decorations that they could eat.
The finished products were then devoured. Well, the two little T's just licked the icing off leaving the naked cupcake behind.
There's a quilt hung on a wall inside the facility that was made by a volunteer. Each square has a child's handprint. Someone is making a new one so the T's each contributed a square.
The oldest T is helping the littlest T. Actually, he's just restraining him in case he decided it was a good idea to put his handprint all over. Luckily, he complied with the orders given and didn't.
How much fun is it to have your face painted? Especially on black asphalt when it's 90 degrees outside. Well, the kids enjoyed it but the creations started sweating off a little later. Tanner and Travis both had orange, black and white stripes painted on their faces. Let me explain. The guy asked what their favorite football team is. Of course, they said the Bengals as I beamed in the background. That's my boys.....
But as soon as they said it, the face painter (who is actually the director's husband pictured below painting Travis) realized he wasn't talented enough to do a tiger so he talked them into striping the team colors. Uhhh.. sure. The boys were cool with that.
Tatum got 2 purple balloons on her cheek and a rainbow on her hand. She's such a girl! Teagan wanted nothing to do with paint on his face but agreed to a yellow star on his hand.
The last event for the sweltering afternoon was the bouncy house. All four T's started out inside with a few other kids. But Teagan decided after getting catapulted around inside everytime a big kid jumped that he wanted out. Yeah kid.....it sucks being the smallest.
Don't let this sweet innocent cuteness fool you. She's the most high maintenance of the group. I guess you have to be when you grow up with three brothers.
On the drive home I heard every nonsensical knock-knock joke every created. Even Teagan got in on it. But his jokes went like this "Knock Knock". I then respond appropriately with "Who's there?" but all I get from him is another "Knock Knock". The joke didn't have a punchline and it never ended.

Here's a great one from Travis. Remember he's seven.
T: Knock Knock
The Best Aunt Ever: Who's there?
T: Orange
TBAE: Orange who?
T: Knock knock
TBAE: Who's there?
T: Orange
TBAE: Orange who?
T: Knock Knock
TBAE: Who's there again?
T: Banana
TBAE: Banana who?
T: Ahhhh man ... I messed that up. I was supposed to do it the other way. I need to start over.
TBAE: Fan-tas-tic! (said exactly the way Sea Star made famous)

Funny stuff. Life with kids. It's a laugh a minute.
