Stuck In The South

Maryellen and I had the news on tonight while we were gabbing away. The top news story caught our attention though. It seems that Skybus airlines has gone bankrupt and would cease all flights at midnight. WTF?
It sure woulda been nice if they'd told me that BEFORE I got on the flight this afternoon. Instead of dropping me off in North Carolina with no way to get home. I mean, it's not like they just decided this a couple hours ago. Certainly they knew before 4pm today, right?

Good thing her guest room is so comfy. Looks like I might be living here ........I wonder if my dog sitter can overnight Griffey?

That just totally bites now doesn't it. At least you are someplace warm but geez... now you have to find a flight home, at your expense no less... Total crap!

I saw that Hedda put the US Airways info on ME's blog. Hope that can work out. At least one of the airlines stepped up.

Eek! Same thing is happening with some airlines that fly to Hawaii...might be nice though to be stuck in the islands though.

Hope you get home safely somehow.

Well, there is the good and the bad... the bad being you have to pay for the other ticket... the good... one extra day... the really bad... you have to find that other flight along with 1,000 other people... good luck...

Sorry about that. According to the skybus website, it says for you to call your credit card company and get a refund.

"Passengers holding reservations for Skybus flights scheduled to depart on or after Saturday, April 5, 2008 should contact their credit card companies to arrange to apply for a refund".

I'm just getting to reading this for myself (instead of living through my Mom's verbal updates).

Independence Air did the same thing to us shortly after we returned from China - only (thankfully!) we hadn't left yet!
