She Fought Hard
But after a long and difficult battle, my Aunt Norma left us this evening. I'm very sad that she'll never know my daughter. But my heart goes out to my uncle, my cousins and her grandchildren who now have to learn to live without her. My cousin's youngest daughter isn't much older than Tatum and she was very close to my aunt. I expect this loss will be especially hard on her. Thanks for the prayers and kind thoughts as our family deals with the days ahead.

I agree, Krista, our family structure has changed dramatically already this year with the loss of 2 special aunts. Here's hoping the next change will be brighter with the addition of little Mia!

Heartbreaking. I'm so sorry for your family. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. When things like this happen, I always think about how much I wish we got "do-overs" in real life. Sometimes there seems to be a cycle in a family--older members go, new babies arrive. We've lost Shirley and Norma already this year--surely the fates will see that NOW is the time for Mia to come home.
